At the heart of my practice lies a fascination with how the physical world can spark our imagination. I am captivated by the behaviour of glass as it moves back and forth through molten and solid states, and my pieces are animated by this story. What we see in the depth of my work is formed when the material is molten and moving. This fluidity is caught as the glass cools and is revealed when the work is polished. Inside there is an unfamiliar landscape, almost as if a new microcosm; a myriad of intricate surfaces suspended within the solidity of the cold glass, creating frozen moments that exist somewhere between liquid and solid states.

I studied glass at the Royal College of Art and The School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod, Czech Republic. My work is in a number of private collections and has been widely exhibited, including at Salisbury Cathedral, the National Liberty Museum [Philadelphia], Munich Design Week, the Coburger Glass Prize [Germany], and the Libensky Award [Czech Republic]. I particularly enjoy working collaborativatly and have recieved fiunding from the Wellcome Trust to work with the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge, Cancer Research UK and philosopher Ezra Rubenstein over an 18 month project. I have also created a permanent installation for the entrance of the School of Physics and Astronomy, Queen Mary University, London and have completed residencies at the National Glass Centre [Sunderland], the Corning Museum of Glass [New York].
